Peter Larkin and the WestLand Panel
Description
The topic of "sustainable development" is given its first major play on WestLand. Dr. Larkin, a fisheries scientist, is also a vice-president of UBC and he is a member of the "sustainable development task group," a Canadian first response to the Brundtland Report. Larkin is a supporter of the concept but says he sees it as a logical extension of the traditional conservation message of Leopold, Haig-Brown and others.
