Forest to Grasslands

Description

After 75 years of Fire Suppression the Ministry of Forests are rethinking some policy changes. Has three quarters of a century of fire suppression put too many trees on our landscape? Were some of these sites better suited to open forests and rangelands? From an economic and biological standpoint should some areas of the province have fewer trees? If so, how do we get some of these forested sites back to their original state? There are economic benefits to improvement of agriculture-grazing on the land base. This program looks at how we begin changing some parts of BC back to what it looked like before fire suppression began.
