FireSmart British Columbia

Description

Since the devastating fire season of 2003, the provincial government, a variety of experts, and B.C. communities have found ways to work together to plan protection against the most dangerous of all wildfires, the interface fires that sweep into communities and subdivisions. This program will focus on what experts say should be done and the steps now underway to insure the safety of all British Columbians. Minister De Jong went to Cranbrook to create a pilot project for community protection, and that project will be included in our program.
