The World Is Our Business
Description
The forest industry has always played a major role in British Columbia's economy. Since about 90% of the wood and wood products produced in our province are exported, recent changes in global trade have left us scrambling to make up for falling revenues. In this episode of WestLand, we examine some of the many efforts and incentives taking place to insure that BC wood becomes the first choice of consumers in the new world market. We profile the efforts to convince China to use more lumber in construction. Several model homes and offices are built in China.
